Red/Blue or Red/Green 3D Glasses

| Jan 15, 2010
The idea for these Red/Blue or Red/Green 3D Glasses is simple.
your TV or Beamer displays two images on your screen, one red the other one blue or green.

on your 3D glasses there are special filters in every lens, the filter in the first glass filters one image and sends only the red image to your eye. the other glass filters the red image and lets only the blue / green image. So your brain receives two different images.

The problem with this 3D technology is that filtering red, blue or green colors results in a loss in image quality.

Needless to say, this technology is quite old and it way used in older movies for creating 3D effects. Today another advanced technology is used to create this effect: 3D Polarization.
